Purpose

This privacy policy sets out how Connective Solutions Limited uses and protects any information that you give us when you use our services.  It tells you what information we collect about you, how we may use it, and the steps we take to ensure that it is kept secure.  We also explain your rights and how to contact us.

Changes to this privacy policy

Connective Solutions Limited may change this policy from time to time.  If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page so that you are aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

This policy is effective from 5th May 2022.

Any revised policy will apply only to data collected after the new policy comes into effect.

What type of information we have

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Your personal identifiers and contact information, e.g., your name, email address, and phone number
  • Information and characteristics of your business, e.g., the name of your company, contact information, and type of company

How we get the information and what we do with it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have made a complaint or enquiry to us.
    • We will only use your personal information to respond to your complaint or enquiry, and we will remove your personal data after 12 months from the final communication relating to that complaint or enquiry.
  • You have applied for a job with us.
    • We will use personal information to evaluate your suitability for the role.
    • If you are unsuccessful in your application, we will remove your personal data after 6 months from the last contact date.
    • If you are successful in your application, we will remove your personal data 6 years after the end of your employment, or later if required by law (e.g., in the case of pension information).
  • You are representing your organisation.
    • We will only use your information to carry out the contracted services, and will remove your personal data upon completion of the services, or when contractually required.

We also receive personal information indirectly, in the following scenarios:

  • Where you have made your contact information publicly available on your organisation’s website, social media, or other public website, and we use this to contact you and your organisation in relation to business opportunities.
  • An employee of ours gives your contact details as a referee.
    • We will use this information during the application process and remove this after 6 months of the last contact if the application is unsuccessful, or 6 years after the end of employment if successful.
  • An employee of ours gives your contact details as an emergency contact.
    • We will use this information to contact you in an emergency, and will remove this information 6 years after the end of employment.

Sharing your information

In order to provide our products and services, we may need to pass information on to our agents and sub-contractors, or appoint other organisations to carry out some of the processing activities on our behalf, such as mailing houses or printers.  We have contracts in place with our data processors.  This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it.  They will not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us.  They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

Transfer of your information outside the UK

We may need to transfer your personal data outside of the UK in order to provide you with the services and products you have requested.  Some of these countries may not have laws that protect privacy rights as extensively as in the UK.  If we do transfer your personal information to other territories, we will take proper steps to ensure that your information is properly protected and ensure that we will only deal with suppliers outside the UK who are GDPR compliant and have policies in place to protect your data.  We will only perform such transfers where a lawful basis for doing so exists.

The use of cookies

Cookies are small data files which are stored on your computer, mobile phone, or device.  Cookies may be placed on your device when you visit a website or open a marketing email, and are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

Connective Solutions Limited does not currently use any cookies.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights.  If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  1. Your consent.  You are able to remove your consent at any time.  You can do this by contacting us at gdpr@connectivesolutions.co.uk.
  2. We have a contractual obligation.
  3. We have a legal obligation.

Links to other websites within our own website

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest.  However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website.  Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.  You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

If you have a complaint, you can contact us at gdpr@connectivesolutions.co.uk.  If you remain dissatisfied with how we have used your data, you can also complain to the ICO.
